CIFIT is the world's largest investment exhibition certified by the International Exhibition Industry Association (UFI). It is the only international investment promotion conference in China with the theme of "bringing in" and "going out", featuring "highlighting national and international aspects, investment negotiation and investment policy publicity, coordinated development of national and regional economies, and economic and trade exchanges with Taiwan". The main contents of CIFIT include: trade exhibitions, international investment forums and investment, a series of seminars on hot investment issues, and investment negotiations with the project matchmaking meeting as the carrier.

For more than 20 years, CIFIT has been committed to building bilateral investment promotion platform, investment trend discussion platform and authoritative information release platform. It has developed into one of the most influential international investment activities in the world.

CIFIT closely focuses on high-level opening-up and international investment cooperation, highlighting the theme of green low-carbon and digital economy, jointly building a new international platform, serving high-quality multi-bilateral economic and trade exchanges and cooperation between the belt and road initiative, BRICS and RCEP, and holding more than 30 high-end forums, industry exhibitions, cross-border investment cooperation activities and project docking.During the conference, the Ministry of Commerce will hold a series of activities of the 2022 International Investment Forum. As a high-ranking and largest activity during the CIFIT, this forum will have a main forum, two sub-forums and a salon.

The scale of this CIFIT is about 120,000 square meters, and it is divided into three areas: the Investment Promotion Hall, the Industrial Innovation and Development Hall and the Project Capital Matching Hall. There are two categories: comprehensive exhibition and enterprise exhibition.

For enterprises, the exhibition set up six theme exhibition areas, including Industrial Internet Exhibition, Green Innovation Technology Product Exhibition, Smart City Exhibition, Rural Revitalization Industry Exhibition, Investment Service and Finance Exhibition, and Domestic Products Exhibition, and held the BRICS New Industrial Revolution Exhibition, focusing on new products, new technologies .

In terms of comprehensive exhibition, embassies and consulates, business associations and investment promotion agencies of 37 countries and regions have applied for participation.
